Search Engine Stats & Traffic

Here’s just some stats and traffic on the popular online search engines.
According to Nielsen//NetRatings in April 2007:
- Google has the largest share of U.S. based web searches at 55.2%
- Yahoo is second at 21.9%
- MSN is third at 9.0%
- AOL is fourth at 5.4% - powered by Google
- Ask is fifth at 1.8%.
Other, small search engines according to Alexa rank this way:
- AltaVista (ranked # 246 compared to all websites)
- Answers (340)
- MyWay (384)
- DMOZ (471)
- AllTheWeb (1,695)
- DogPile (2,222)
- Snap (2,456)
- Mamma (2,790)
